As humans, we have a flawed tendency to judge others by their actions and then ourselves by our intentions. But when you think about it, our intentions often do not align with our actions.
If you’ve ever tried to follow a physical training program, diet plan, or a course syllabus — and failed to keep up after the first few days — then you’ve already experienced the damage misalignment between intentions and actions can do.
This misalignment is proof that your intentions can and do lie to you.
As a result, you end up developing counterproductive behaviors and schedules that don’t get you anywhere closer to your true goals. It’s like driving a car with wheels out of alignment, everything gets worn down and you risk crashing in the end.
